Flamingos for Christmas

Christmas is a time of merry-making, and if you’re looking to spice up your holiday decor or celebrate the season in style this year, you might want to consider flamingos. Not only are they a cute addition to any tree, but flamingos can be an excellent conversation piece when guests arrive at your house.

Flamingos were invented in 1957 and are now an enduring symbol of flamboyance and fun. They were designed by an artist who worked for Union Products, a Leominster, Massachusetts-based company that makes plastics.

The flamingos were made in the United States, and are based on an animal native to Florida. They were originally used as lawn ornaments, but in the 1960s they began to become popular for sexy parties and events.

A lot of people are now swapping out traditional ornaments for more flamboyant ones, and this has been reflected in the trend towards flamingo-themed Christmas decorations. This includes things like ornaments, wreaths and lights, which can be found at a variety of stores and online.

There are even flamingo-themed items that can be used during the holidays, such as wine bottle stoppers that will keep your glasses from spilling. And if you’re looking for a little something extra to add a touch of flamingo flair to your Christmas decor, try these colorful LED Christmas flamingos.

It’s a little bit tacky, but it’s a whole lot of fun!

In the 200 block of Clinton Avenue in Oak Park, Illinois, a bunch of homeowners have replaced their traditional wintry displays with tropical ones. Their front yards are now adorned with a flamingo Santa and a set of flamingo reindeer.

Kimberly Garnett, who lives on the block, said she decided to go flamingo after watching John Waters’ “Miracle on 34th Street.” She said her kids and a neighbor’s children have loved the flamingos. She’s also gotten a few neighbors interested in decorating with flamingos.

Another neighbor, Debbie Wenze, who has a two-story yellow house that has a pool and screened lanai, decorated with flamingo ornaments, palm fronds and tulle ribbon in her theme colors: pink, lime green and turquoise.
